On the 27th November 2008, while I was busy doing my work at my desk, suddenly 2 young men approached me and started to introduce themselves as fundraiser of NKF. NKF stands for National Kidney Fund. They show me some brochures and stuffs and I also asked them some questions.
Actually this association exist for quite some time already , so I decided to give my support to them. I sign up their ongoing donor form and every month they will deduct RM38 from my Maybank account.
But then, Yesterday, My colleague show me an article from Borneo Post newspaper saying that the fundraisers that come to me are conmen. They cheat people's money saying that the fund is for Miri Dialysis Centre. I think there must be some misunderstanding between the fundraiser statements towards some question being asked by some Mirians.
However, Red Crescent and also Miri Dialysis Centre shouldnt make such statement in the press by saying NKF cheats.
Therefore, last night, I email to NKF centre at which is located at KL, and this morning they give me a call and explain to me. The person said..they were busy answering calls from other people too due to the article in the newspaper. LoL and he said, within these 2 days, they will make a statement to clerify what has happened to clear all the misunderstanding.
So here, if any of you has been approached by such people and If you have already sign up for the on-going donor programme, dont worry, it's just a misunderstanding between the 2 association that such statement appear in newspaper. Be alert to the news within these 2 days. =D
good for you miao
